Green Remodeling
Brackmann Remodeling and Construction is dedicated to helping preserve our environment. In an effort to do all we can, we recycle all possible construction debris. We are certified in the new EPA lead-safe practices and have many on our staff certified as well. We believe we are all in this together and that if we all do our part everyone will benefit. Green Remodeling is the design and construction of projects that reduce the environmental impact of remodeling, including energy, water, materials consumption, water generation, and harmful emissions, both indoors and out. A Green Professional considers sustainability and maximizing nature’s resources and energy in an efficient and responsible manner in the conduct of their business.
There are several aspects to green remodeling.
- Building Science
- Indoor Air Quality
- Deconstruction vs Demolition
- Renewable Energy
- Energy Efficient Appliances
- Exterior Site Development
Green Remodeling can and should be a part of every project. Every effort to provide a healthier, more energy efficient, and weather resistant home counts as being “GREEN.” It can be as simple as changing out incandescent light bulbs with compact fluorescent lights. Going green is sometimes presumed to be expensive or a big undertaking, but education and the changing of simple habits can reduce energy use and protect the environment without costing a penny.
